Pisters receives recognition as top leader in local, national rankings
MD Anderson’s president is in the company of top CEO’s in Houston and across the U.S.
Peter WT Pisters, M.D., president of MD Anderson Cancer Center, has been named one of the top chief executive officers (CEOs) at the national and local level. Rankings by Glassdoor and the Houston Business Journal (HBJ), released in June, placed Pisters in the company of top CEOs in Houston and across the U.S.
Glassdoor ranked Pisters third on its Top CEOs 2021 list of 100 leaders, based on employee ratings. Pisters earned a 99% approval rating from MD Anderson employees who gave anonymous feedback on the web platform, which shares employer reviews and salary information.
HBJ named Pisters to its list of Most Admired CEOs. The fourth annual awards included leaders of 30 for-profit and 20 nonprofit organizations. Judges for the HBJ awards evaluated characteristics such as contribution to company success, civic involvement and career achievement.
“I’m honored to represent MD Anderson on this list of admirable leaders and peers,” Pisters said after HBJ’s announcement. “This recognition reflects the outstanding efforts of our 22,000-strong team as we have taken on the challenges and celebrated the triumphs of the past 16 months.”
