New integrated breast screening, diagnostic programs available

MD Anderson-Memorial Hermann partnership creates neighborhood access to imaging services

Memorial Hermann and MD Anderson now offer specialized breast screening and diagnostic services at a network of community breast care centers in the greater Houston area.

The joint program was announced in August 2014 and launched in November. MD Anderson Breast Care With Memorial Hermann makes MD Anderson the exclusive provider of breast radiology services for Memorial Hermann’s Memorial City, The Woodlands, Northeast, Southwest and Sugar Land breast care centers.

With increased access to MD Anderson’s expert imaging, reading, interpretation and research, patients now have the convenience of a community location through the expansive Memorial Hermann network.

“This collaboration allows us to take our screening expertise to more women, who can take comfort in knowing their imaging is provided by radiologists who’ve dedicated their careers to caring for cancer patients,” says Ron DePinho, M.D., president of MD Anderson.

The breast care centers offer breast MRIs, biopsies and ultrasounds, as well as 3D and digital mammography.
