New AAAS Fellows
Four MD Anderson leaders honored for distinguished science
The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the world’s largest general scientific society, has elected four new fellows from MD Anderson:
- Michael Andreeff, M.D., Ph.D., professor in Leukemia and chief, Section of Molecular Hematology and Therapy
- Ethan Dmitrovsky, M.D., provost and executive vice president
- Kim-Anh Do, Ph.D., professor and chair, Biostatistics
- Richard D. Wood, Ph.D., professor in Molecular Carcinogenesis
"Election to AAAS is richly deserved peer recognition,” says Ron DePinho, M.D., MD Anderson president. “These four new fellows reflect the multidisciplinary excellence of our faculty.”
MD Anderson now has 23 AAAS Fellows on its faculty, with 14 elected in the past three years. Andreef, Dmitrovsky, Do and Wood received an official certificate and a gold and blue rosette pin during 139-year-old organization’s February annual meeting in Chicago.
