Pediatric Acute Cancer Care Center
If a pediatric patient needs care right away for symptoms caused by cancer or cancer treatment, the Pediatric Acute Cancer Care Center is available to help.
The center is for patients seen primarily by doctors with the Children’s Cancer Hospital. It is open 24 hours a day, every day.
When to go to the Pediatric Acute Cancer Care Center
Our team members are experts in treating the unique needs of our pediatric cancer patients. They are available to treat urgent symptoms such as fever, chills, pain, vomiting, bleeding, dizziness and fainting.
Walk-ins are welcome and calling ahead is encouraged. Our call-ahead number is 713-563-0239.
In case of emergency, such as difficulty breathing, seizure, loss of consciousness or severe bleeding, caregivers should call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency center.
How to get to the Pediatric Acute Cancer Care Center
The center is located in the Children’s Cancer Hospital in MD Anderson’s main building in the Texas Medical Center. Visit access.mdanderson.org for driving directions and for walking directions while on campus, or see the instructions below.
Nearest parking: Texas Medical Center Garage 2, located at 1151 Holcombe Blvd.
Walking directions: From inside the Main Building, take Elevator F, near The Pavilion entrance, to Floor 9.
Arriving by ambulance: Pediatric patients arriving by ambulance will be cared for in the Acute Cancer Care Center in the Main Building, Floor 1.
