For more than 80 years, MD Anderson has provided an unparalleled level of cancer care. Now, patients in Northwest Houston, Cypress, Tomball and surrounding areas have an option for surgery and other procedures closer to home.

MD Anderson Cancer Center Northwest Houston Surgical and Specialty Care serves patients undergoing procedures that do not need an overnight stay or need a stay of up to 48 hours only.

These procedures are performed by MD Anderson physicians and care providers who are specially trained in oncology, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and surgical technologists. They work closely with the rest of your care team to plan your treatment.

The Northwest Houston team performs surgeries and procedures for the following conditions:

• Breast cancer
• Gynecologic cancers
• Melanoma
• Urologic cancers
• Cancer-related pain

Patient Visitors

Patients at Northwest Houston are allowed up to two visitors or caregivers in this location. However, only one patient visitor or caregiver is allowed in the pre-operative and post-anesthesia care unit during the procedure. This is due to space limitations and for safety.

Patients who need to stay overnight for an extended recovery can have one adult age 18 or older stay in their room. Additional visitors can stay until 9 p.m.

Outpatients must have a responsible adult available to receive discharge instructions and take them home after their procedures.

Visitors and caregivers at Northwest Houston Surgical and Specialty Care can purchase food and drink onsite at the 1941 Marketplace Café.

Parking is free in the surface lot in front of the building. Enter through the Surgery Entrance.
