The Microbiome Core at MD Anderson Cancer Center supports research by offering high-quality sequencing technologies and comprehensive research support for profiling complex microbial communities and characterizing microbial functions in microbiome studies.

Getting Started
To schedule an appointment and discuss the details of your experimental design, please contact the core.

- Once your account is set up, you can proceed to the Microbiome Core page to request the services.
- The core will review your request and process the billing event.
- To arrange the drop-off of your samples, please contact Tina Chang, the core manager.

Impact
The Microbiome Core has made significant advancements by developing novel sequencing and culturomics services for diverse clinical samples, enabling investigators to conduct cutting-edge research in their respective fields. The impact of the core's support is reflected in the publication of over 45 research papers since 2018. Microbiome Core's comprehensive sequencing services enable longitudinal studies, providing the opportunity to investigate changes in the microbiome composition over time and their correlation with treatment efficacy and patient outcomes. These efforts facilitate multidisciplinary collaborations, enabling experts from diverse fields to synergize their expertise and deepen our understanding of the intricate interplay between the microbiome and cancer.
