Our lab studies the immunologic and molecular mechanisms underlying cutaneous T cell lymphoma (CTCL) and other T cell mediated skin diseases, including pathogenesis, carcinogenesis, tumor immune escape and extracorporeal photopheresis.
About the Ni Lab (formerly the Duvic Lab)
Our research interests have been focused on pathogenesis of cutaneous T cell lymphoma (CTCL) and their therapeutic implications. Our research works have also extended recently to genomic profiling and carcinogenesis in CTCL. Our group has completed multiple basic and translational research projects, including being among the first group of labs to complete multiplatform genomic analysis in Sézary syndrome patients (Nature Genetics 47:1426-34, 2015). We are the only group using dermal fibroblasts cultured from the same patient as a self-negative control for whole exome sequencing, which allows us to identify unique driver mutations for CTCL.
Dr. Ni's career goals are to uncover the carcinogenesis and pathogenesis of CTCL, to understand mechanisms of response/resistance of current treatments and to develop more effective/specific therapeutic strategies for CTCL.
