Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Scientific Programmer
The Department of Imaging Physics at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow or Scientific Programmer to work on funded clinical and translational research projects in the following areas of medical imaging physics:
- Quantitative molecular imaging (SPECT/CT, PET/CT, Molecular Breast Imaging)
- Patient-specific radiopharmaceutical dosimetry and treatment planning
Candidate should be eligible for employment in the United States.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering, Computational or Computer Science, Medical Physics or a related field. Candidates should have expertise in medical image processing and scientific programming (e.g., IDL, Matlab, C/C++), with strong problem-solving and excellent communication skills. Experience with Monte-Carlo simulation packages (e.g., MCNPX, EGSnrc, GATE, GEANT4), computational sciences or image reconstruction algorithms are highly desirable. This two year postdoctoral fellowship is well suited for a highly motivated and talented individual who wants to develop his/her academic career in the field of medical physics.
