Our main focus is Advanced Adaptive Radiation Therapy (A2RT). Modern radiation therapy heavily relies on imaging, including CT, MRI and PET, from tumor staging and treatment planning to treatment guidance and post-treatment assessment. Our research focuses on medical image computing for radiation oncology applications, ranging from basic algorithm development to translational clinical research. Specifically, our lab research includes development of novel image segmentation and deformable registration algorithms for multi-modality images, MR-guided online adaptive radiotherapy (MR-Linac) and quantitative imaging biomarkers for treatment outcome prediction (Radiomics).
The goal of our research lab is to fundamentally improve radiotherapy by developing a novel treatment system with simulation free automated online adaptive radiotherapy. The novel system we will develop features AI-based applications in auto-contouring, auto-planning, dose prediction, auto-decision making and outcome prediction. The combination of these AI modules will drive automated online adaptive radiotherapy for MR-guided, CT-guided and PET-guided linacs.
Join Our Lab
Postdoctoral Fellows
The Yang A2RT Lab at MD Anderson Cancer Center is recruiting postdoctoral fellows to develop AI-based deformable registration and image segmentation algorithms. Current funded projects in the lab focus on addressing medical imaging computing technologies necessary to enable highly efficient and effective MR-guided online adaptive radiotherapy toward precision radiation oncology. Please contact Dr. Jinzhong Yang for further information and application.
Graduate Students
The Yang A2RT Lab is actively recruiting Medical Physics graduate students who are interested in AI research for adaptive radiotherapy, MR-Linac translational research and quantitative imaging biomarkers (Radiomics). Students are always welcomed to join us for tutorial projects in the lab and are encouraged to contact Dr. Jinzhong Yang to discuss the current active projects in the lab.
