Tumor cells exist in constant interaction with the surrounding "normal" cells of the tumor microenvironment (TME). These interactions are pivotal in promoting tumor growth and progression, making it essential to study the crosstalk between tumor cells and the TME. A deeper understanding of these dynamics is key to developing novel therapeutic approaches. To achieve this, we utilize cutting-edge technologies like single-cell RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics to characterize both mouse and human tissues. We also employ functional genomics tools and immune-competent tumor mouse models to investigate molecular mechanisms in a functional context. Our research is firmly grounded in translational science, with the ultimate goal of bridging fundamental discoveries to clinical applications. We aim to develop innovative cancer therapies that target tumor cells and reprogram the TME.
