Life in the Lab
The Chung Lab is a hybrid team. To maintain connectivity and collaboration in this hybrid environment, we have biweekly lab meetings to share updates, discuss problems and collaborate on solutions. We also meet regularly for virtual happy hours or seasonal festivities and try to connect in-person, when possible, to build friendships amongst the team. Whether working in the lab or remotely, our team strives to stay well connected and available for each other.
Many of our projects are highly collaborative; teamwork is a priority of the lab. On a day-to-day basis, we…
- Help each other collect and curate appropriate data,
- Peer review each other’s posters, presentations, and manuscripts to help strengthen the submission,
- Consistently provide space to ask for help and brainstorm possible solutions together, and
- Support each other in areas of professional development.
In addition to being collaborative, our work is also highly multidisciplinary. While our primary focus is on computational/data science and machine learning, the educational backgrounds and interests represented in the lab are very diverse. We leverage our broad knowledge base to tackle a variety of complex challenges through machine learning, retrospective studies, clinical trials and more!
