Addressing Brazil's cancer burden
A new partnership with Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein (HIAE) in São Paulo, Brazil will pioneer multidisciplinary patient care in Brazil and advance
MD Anderson’s mission to end cancer globally.
The first clinical extension of the institution in Latin America, the 489-bed private hospital is the initial international member of the MD Anderson Cancer Network®. The network is a select group of hospitals and health systems with access to the institution’s best practices, education, research and treatment protocols.
“Brazil has more than a half-million cancer cases a year. We intend to address that challenge,” says Amy Hay, vice president for business development at
MD Anderson. As an associate member of the network, HIAE will integrate operationally and clinically with MD Anderson.
