Diabetes Clinic
MD Anderson’s Diabetes Clinic offers screening, surveillance, diagnosis and care for cancer patients who have Type 1, Type 2 or drug-induced diabetes.
Treatments address conditions often connected to diabetes, including hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia and lipid disorders like high cholesterol. The clinic also offers remote glucose monitoring and same-day consultations for patients who need urgent diabetes evaluations.
In collaboration with each patient’s oncology team, the clinic customizes diabetes management to account for cancer treatments, activity level and appetite.
Diabetes Education
The clinic’s diabetes educators provide patient education that aligns with standards set by the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists. We also offer virtual group classes on optimizing diabetes management during cancer treatment.
