MD Anderson News Release 09/02/2015

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center will host a celebratory reception honoring hundreds of Houston-area donors on Wednesday, Sept. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the River Oaks Country Club, 1600 River Oaks Blvd.

MD Anderson President Ron DePinho, M.D. will personally thank Houstonians for their generosity and continued commitment to the institution throughout the years. He’ll also discuss the latest breakthroughs made possible by the Moon Shots Program, MD Anderson’s unprecedented effort to rapidly reduce cancer deaths and transform patient care. Guests will have the opportunity to participate in a question-and-answer session following the evening’s presentations.

Far-reaching programs

The institution’s reach spreads far across Houston and its surrounding communities. MD Anderson centers in Katy, the Bay Area, The Woodlands and Sugar Land offer radiation, medical oncology, chemotherapy infusion, laboratory, pharmacy and other services.

The institution’s recent partnership with Memorial Hermann also offers an integrated breast screening and diagnostic program at five Memorial Hermann breast care centers. It also has a diagnostic imaging center in West Houston as well as an office in Memorial City where patients can see their surgeons for appointments.
