Experts to reveal latest knowledge in personalized therapy and cancer prevention at free lunch event

Renowned oncologists from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center return to Austin March 5 for the institution’s well-known Making Cancer History® educational seminar. Doctors will discuss innovations in personalized cancer therapies, share vital cancer prevention tips and update attendees on breakthroughs made possible by the Moon Shots Program, MD Anderson’s unprecedented effort to rapidly reduce cancer deaths and transform care.
The seminar will take place at the Hilton Austin, 500 E. 4th St. Doors open at 11 a.m. with a lunch buffet.
Presentations start at 11:30 featuring:
• Gordon Mills, M.D., Ph.D., chair, Systems Biology, professor, Medicine and Immunology, co-director of the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Institute for Personalized Cancer Therapy and co-leader of the Breast and Ovarian Cancers Moon Shot
• Therese Bevers, M.D., professor, Clinical Cancer Prevention, and medical director, Lyda Hill Cancer Prevention Center
• Lorenzo Cohen, Ph.D., professor, General Oncology and Behavioral Science

The one-and-a-half-hour seminar will include a question-and-answer session following the presentations.
Since 1944, almost one million patients have registered at MD Anderson. From Austin, 19,315 people have sought diagnostic treatment or prevention services, including 1,080 new patients in the past year.
