MD Anderson presents Making Cancer History® seminar in Santa Fe

Free lunchtime event focuses on lowering cancer risk, living more fully

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center will host a Making Cancer History® seminar in Santa Fe, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6 at the Inn and Spa at Loretto, 211 Old Santa Fe Trail. The free lunch-and-learn event will offer attendees information on cancer prevention, details on vital research to advance treatments for age-related neurodegenerative diseases and breakthroughs made possible by the Moon Shots Program, MD Anderson’s unprecedented effort to rapidly reduce cancer deaths and transform care.

Doors open at 11 a.m. with a buffet lunch. Presentations start at 11:30 featuring:
    •     Ron DePinho, M.D., president of MD Anderson
    •     Ernest Hawk, M.D., vice president, head of Cancer Prevention and 
           Population Sciences
    •     Jim Ray, Ph.D., head of research for the Neurodegeneration Consortium

A question-and-answer session will follow the presentations.
