MD Anderson brings Making Cancer History® seminar to Atlanta

Free event offers information on the latest cancer treatment and prevention strategies

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center heads to Atlanta for a Making Cancer History® seminar, 8:30-10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25 at the Intercontinental Buckhead Atlanta Hotel, 3315 Peachtree Rd. NE. MD Anderson leaders including Thomas Buchholz, M.D., executive vice president and physician-in-chief, will share information on the latest cancer treatment and prevention strategies for children and adults. Topics include recent breakthroughs made possible by the Moon Shots Program, MD Anderson’s unprecedented effort to rapidly reduce cancer deaths and transform patient care.

Doors open at 8 a.m. with a breakfast buffet. Presentations start at 8:30 featuring:

   •   Thomas Buchholz, M.D., executive vice president and physician-in-chief
   •   Steven Frank, M.D., deputy department chair, Strategic Programs; medical director, Proton Therapy Center   
   •   Ernest Hawk, M.D., vice president, head of Cancer Prevention and Population Sciences

A question-and-answer session will follow the presentations.
