Applying to the TRIUMPH Program
Eligibility Criteria
Early Stage Postdoctoral Fellows
1. Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. from a top graduate program (U.S. or abroad) in any of the life or natural sciences within the last three years
2. Current graduates within one year of their anticipated defense date, those who have graduated within the last three years, and/or those with less than one and a half years of post-doc experience are encouraged to apply
3. Dedicated to pursuing translational cancer research
4. Publications in top tier journals (must have at least one accepted or published first or co-first author paper in a journal with an impact factor >8 at the time of application)
5. United States citizenship or permanent residency is not required. All foreign fellows must have an active visa for the duration of the fellowship
Established Postdoctoral Fellows
1. Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. from a top graduate program (U.S. or abroad) in any of the life or natural sciences
2. Must have no more than 3 years of postdoctoral experience by the time one starts the program if accepted
3. Dedicated to pursuing translational cancer research
4. Has two or more first or co-first author papers in journals with an impact factor of >8. At least one publication should stem from previous postdoctoral work
5. United States citizenship or permanent residency is not required. All foreign fellows must have an active visa for the duration of the fellowship
Internal Postdoctoral Fellows
1. Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. from a top graduate program (U.S. or abroad) in any of the life or natural sciences
2. Must have no more than 3 years of postdoctoral experience by the time one starts the program if accepted
3. Dedicated to pursuing translational cancer research
4. Has two or more first or co-first author papers in journals with an impact factor of >8. At least one publication should stem from previous postdoctoral work
5. United States citizenship or permanent residency is not required. All foreign fellows must have an active visa for the duration of the fellowship
6. Will be supported by mentor funding if accepted
How to Apply
Please email all documents to Dr. Kara Lewis (keleonard@mdanderson.org) for submission. Applications should include:
1. Curriculum Vitae
2. PDF reprints of all first author publications
3. Three letters of recommendation-Letters should be written on official letter head and contain original signatures. They should be submitted by email from the referees institutional/organizational email account to Dr. Kara Lewis (keleonard@mdanderson.org). A confirmation email will be sent to confirm receipt
4. A two-page essay describing your goals and dedication toward a career in translational cancer research. Essay should be single-spaced and in 12-point Arial or Times New Roman font
The current application cycle closes on December 31, 2024.
There will be four annual application cycle deadlines for 2024: March 31, 2024; June 30, 2024; September 30, 2024; and December 31, 2024.
