The goal of the SPCR is to provide talented undergraduate students with a research project-based laboratory experience and exposure to the different disciplines working to address the causes, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer with an emphasis on epigenetic mechanisms. The faculty mentors for the NCI R25-sponsored Summer Program in Cancer Research have been carefully selected to provide an extraordinary range of research areas fitting under the umbrella of cancer genetics and epigenetics. Faculty interests range from defining the roles of microRNAs in C. elegans to natural killer cell therapeutics in human cancers.
