Summer Imaging Research Program (SIRP)
The research fellowship program is a 10-week program that offers hands-on experience in imaging clinical research, which will include one or all imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, ultrasound and PET/CT. This fellowship is sponsored by QIAC (Quantitative Imaging Analysis Core).
Workshops and lectures provide opportunities to connect with faculty, students, fellows and other participants. We have Monday and Wednesday noon educational conferences along with 17 multidisciplinary conferences, which students are encouraged to attend.
Through the research program, students gain an insight into imaging of cancer patients, cancer research and patient care. The program concludes with a symposium in which participants present talks and posters on their research projects to peers and faculty.
The program includes the following activities:
- Hands-on investigative scientific research directed by MD Anderson Radiology faculty
- Opportunities for clinical observation in radiology and attendance at multidisciplinary conferences
- Lectures designed to expand students' knowledge of scientific fields and medical disciplines
- End-of-program presentation of research projects
