Distance Education at Our Nationwide Locations

The application process for our nationwide and Houston locations are identical. During the admissions process, the applicant will identify their preferred site(s) to complete the program. Preferred site placement will be taken into consideration but is not guaranteed. The location an applicant chooses to attend the program has no bearing on the student selection process.
Upon completion of the admission process, the program assigns each applicant to a site. Suppose an applicant is unwilling to complete the program at the designated location. In that case, they must decline the position and request their name be placed on a waiting list for their desired area(s).

All students in the program must meet the same rigorous requirements for graduation regardless of their location. Therefore, students assigned to nationwide locations must attend orientation in Houston, Texas, the first six weeks of the first semester of the program and a minimum of 4 weeks each Summer Semester. All costs associated with this requirement are the responsibility of the student.

Tuition for all students is dependent upon their residency status.  For example, if a student who is a resident of Texas chooses the MD Anderson Banner site in Arizona, this student would pay in-state tuition.

Tuition rates for in-state and out-of-state residents apply.  The tuition rates for in-state and out-of-state are very competitive compared to other universities.  Some competitive scholarships may make the out-of-state student eligible for in-state tuition.

Texas regulations require every student to complete the Texas General Education Core Curriculum, including Texas History and Texas Government. If your local college or university does not offer these courses, you may take them online at any Texas public college/university.  Houston Community College, Lone Star College, San Jacinto College, or Dallas County Community College have an online option to complete these courses.
