Patient Home Visit Course
Patient Home Visits - Community Bus Rounds
Taking place in a mobile classroom, participants of the Community Bus Rounds will have the opportunity to observe the delivery of supportive medical care with some of the world’s leading palliative care professionals at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.
Traveling to various locations throughout the Houston community, Community Bus Rounds introduces medical providers to some of the devastating challenges patients and their families face toward the end of life. Through this patient-centered approach, we aim to identify these barriers and discuss methods of care for the patient with the common goal of how each patient can live as well as possible, for as long as possible.
Target Audience
This highly interactive and experiential education course targets physicians, nurses, residents, fellows, social workers, chaplains, and other healthcare providers both, inside and outside of M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, who have a common interest in palliative, hospice, and supportive care.
This program is for anyone interested in Palliative Care or hospice work. We welcome all students, researchers, health care professionals, those interested in exploring careers in Hospice or Palliative Care, and the general public to participate in this educational program.
