Diagnostic Imaging VI Registry Review

After completion of the courses, attendees will earn eighteen (18) Category "A" CE Credits (pending AHRA Approval).

Upon completion of this VI Registry Review, the learner should:

• Have an understanding of the clinical requirements for the VI Registry,
• Review and understand the content specifications for the VI Registry,
• Understand general patient care to include patient preparation, patient assessment, IV procedures, contrast agents, and radiation safety and dosimetry,
• Have an understanding of vascular-interventional procedures including neurologic, thoracic, abdominal, GU and GI, non vascular, peripheral, dialysis management and venous access; vascular anatomy will be reviewed; contrast media usage and imaging protocols will be discussed,
• Have an understanding of digital imaging, pressure injectors, procedural supplies and related equipment and instrumentation.

   1. Review clinical procedures for the VI Registry: Required clinical procedures and Establish eligibility for certification
   2. Discuss the content specifications for the VI Registry: Post primary examination and Question format and content
   3. Learn how to prepare for the VI Registry: What could they ask? What should you study? How should you study?
   4. Patient preparation: Informed consent and Patient education
   5. Patient assessment
      1. Physiologic Monitoring: Vital signs, ECG, and Pulse Oximetry
      2. Access Assessment: Peripheral pulses and Anatomical location
      3. Lab Values: Renal function (BUN, creatinine, eGFR), Blood coagulation (PT, PTT, platelet, INR, ACT), and Hematology
      4. Medications: Types, Indications and contraindications, Preparation and dosage, and Complications
      5. Contrast Agents: Types and properties of Ionic and Nonionic contrast agents
      6. Emergency Care: Contrast reactions and complications
2. Vascular-Interventional Procedures (Vascular and non-vascular anatomy review): Neurologic, Thoracic, Abdominal, GU and non-vascular GI, Peripheral, Dialysis management, and Venous access
3. Equipment and Instrumentation: Digital imaging, automatic pressure injectors, Procedural supplies, and Implantable devices
