Objectives
Upon completion of this VI Registry Review, the learner should:
- Have an understanding of the clinical requirements for the VI Registry,
- Review and understand the content specifications for the VI Registry,
- Understand general patient care to include patient preparation, patient assessment, IV procedures, contrast agents, and radiation safety and dosimetry,
- Have an understanding of vascular-interventional procedures including neurologic, thoracic, abdominal, GU and GI, non vascular, peripheral, dialysis management and venous access; vascular anatomy will be reviewed; contrast media usage and imaging protocols will be discussed,
- Have an understanding of digital imaging, pressure injectors, procedural supplies and related equipment and instrumentation.

- Discuss the content specifications for the VI Registry: Post primary examination and Question format and content
- Learn how to prepare for the VI Registry: What could they ask? What should you study? How should you study?
- Patient preparation: Informed consent and Patient education
- Patient assessment
- Physiologic Monitoring: Vital signs, ECG, and Pulse Oximetry
- Access Assessment: Peripheral pulses and Anatomical location
- Lab Values: Renal function (BUN, creatinine, eGFR), Blood coagulation (PT, PTT, platelet, INR, ACT), and Hematology
- Medications: Types, Indications and contraindications, Preparation and dosage, and Complications
- Contrast Agents: Types and properties of Ionic and Nonionic contrast agents
- Emergency Care: Contrast reactions and complications
- Vascular-Interventional Procedures (Vascular and non-vascular anatomy review): Neurologic, Thoracic, Abdominal, GU and non-vascular GI, Peripheral, Dialysis management, and Venous access
- Equipment and Instrumentation: Digital imaging, automatic pressure injectors, Procedural supplies, and Implantable devices
