Christopher J. Logothetis, M.D., has four decades of research experience, of which the last 25 years have been largely focused on prostate cancer. His focus has been on developing therapies for prostate cancer and linking the underlying biology to the disease. He's contributed to developing chemotherapy, bone targeted therapy and molecularly-targeted therapies in specific subsets of patients in combination.

What's your Moon Shot focus?
The Moon Shots Program™ is leading the interaction between clinicians and basic scientists with a very specific goal of identifying and prioritizing the areas of potential advances and focusing our resources on these areas. The goal is to shift from a treatment paradigm to a curative paradigm.
What do you hope to accomplish?
Before my career resolves here, I hope to see the subset of men with prostate cancer that's currently considered to be incurable and difficult to treat become highly treatable with a significant portion of these having curable subsets of disease.
What makes your fight against cancer personal?
Bearing witness to the interrupted dreams our patients must accept due to prostate cancer is sufficient inspiration.

The program stands out because of its expanse and the fact that it's founded on a culture of individuals who are unhappy with the status quo and are trying to go beyond the prevailing incrementalism to drive major changes in the outcomes of our patients.
What motivates and excites you?
The researchers that I've been privileged to lead, patients and caregivers continue to inspire me and keep me motivated. The generous individuals who have trusted our research and supported it represent a very unique inspiration as well.
