Celebration raises nearly $15 million
The week-long celebration, which paid homage to the institution’s faculty, staff, patients, survivors, volunteers and supporters, raised nearly $15 million to support MD Anderson’s mission to end cancer.
Inaugural Boot Walk helps fund cancer research
Boot Walk
Nearly 6,500 patients, caregivers, family members, employees and supporters came out to help us give cancer the boot. The event raised about $850,000 for cancer research.

Nurses from around the world come to learn techniques introduced here. Today, we have about 3,700 nurses.

The R. Lee Clark Clinic, named for our first full-time president, was completed in 1978 and expanded in 1987.
