Successful candidates are expected to establish an independent, extramurally funded research program that complements existing research strengths at MD Anderson, in the themes listed below. Research should emphasize mechanistic studies and novel computational methods with relevance to multiple cancer types. Interested basic and translational science applicants should hold a PhD, MD or MD/PhD and have at least two years of postdoctoral training with an exceptional publication record. For applications in research domains such as data science and modeling, data visualization, or dissemination and implementation science, the relevant and impactful experience will be prioritized over traditional length-of-training requirements.

Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a board-prepared or board-certified physician at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher to join our growing academic department in the world’s largest medical center, located in Houston, Texas.  The 44-bed emergency department has an annual census of nearly 30,000.  This is an exceptional opportunity for emergency physicians to support the development of oncologic emergency medicine as a distinct sub-discipline.  Responsibilities include providing patient care in oncologic emergencies as well as supervising and educating medical students, residents, and fellows.

Education & Licensure

The Assistant Professor must have completed the M.D. degree in an accredited medical school or equivalent, must have completed residency training in an approved American Residency Program or equivalent, have made application and been accepted by the American Board of Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine, and be licensed as a physician in the State of Texas.  Must be board certified in Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine (or foreign equivalent if applicable) or obtain board certification within 3 years of employment.  At least 2 years of experience as an Instructor or 5 years post degree with any combination of time as a clinician, clinical scientist, or GME trainee (except specialties with shorter residency or fellowship).

Oncologic Emergency Medicine Fellowship

The Oncologic Emergency Medicine fellowship provides 12 to 24 months of advanced training in the growing sub-discipline of oncologic emergency medicine. This one-year (with optional second year) fellowship will offer an outstanding opportunity to highly qualified applicants who will contribute to this emerging sub-discipline.  The program concentrates on cancer-related emergencies, pain, and symptom management, as well as palliative aspects of emergency department cancer care beyond that provided in a classical emergency medicine residency. Upon completion, it is expected that the fellowship will provide a career track that is focused in clinical care and enable a physician to provide superior cancer care in both academic and community settings.

The Department of Endocrine Neoplasia and Hormonal Disorders at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center seeks talented clinicians to apply to join the faculty as an expert in oncologic endocrinology.

Job Title: Open Rank, Clinical Faculty Appointment (CFA)

The Department of Radiation Physics at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas is seeking a clinically oriented Therapeutic Medical Physicist for a full time PhD faculty position. The candidate's primary clinical duties will be to support external beam and brachytherapy treatments at the main campus in Houston.  Responsibilities will depend upon the clinical service to which the candidate is assigned but may include special procedures such as 4DCT, SRS, SBRT, IORT and PDR and HDR gynecological treatments. The candidate will participate in quality assurance for our EBRT treatment machines, CT-simulators and HDR and PDR units. They will also participate in special projects and other assignments as needed. As a faculty member, the candidate will participate in research programs and in educational programs for graduate students and trainees. MD Anderson is a smoke-free environment. Requirements include a PhD in Medical Physics or Physics and ABR certification completed or in progress. Residency program graduate is preferred.  Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a large team are a must for the successful candidate.
